Orchard road is the pulsing shopping heart of Singapore. Here, malls and shopping opportunities are literally limitless. Originally the site of nutmeg plantations and fruit orchards (hence the name), Orchard road is today an international shopping destination that also offer tired shoppers numerous dining opportunities of every cuisine and for every budget.

For later night partying, Riverside is the main area. Still, Orchard is not without options either. On the nicer end, there are the restored shop houses of Emerald Hill who are not only charming in their own right, they are also home to some nice watering holes like No. 5 Emerald Hill Cocktail Bar and others.

At the other end of the spectrum is e.g. Orchard Towers with its slightly more seedy bars with names like Club Romeo, and plenty of Thai and Philippine women around. In between, there is a wide choice of watering holes like Muddy Murphy's Irish Pub making sure you will not go thirsty.
